Add a Target Page

Once you are logged in, it is very simple to begin building links to your site. First you will add a target page. This target page, use the page to which you will be building links.

1. Once you are logged in, click “sidebar links”
2. Click the “add target page” button
3. Under target anchor text, enter your targeted keyword or key phrase
4. Under target page, enter the URL of the site you are building links to
5. Click Add Target page

Now that you have added a target page, you have the ability to build links to that page through the various link building options.

Sidebar links are some of the most popular, and most clicked. This means they are beneficial for both SEO, and traffic. Footer Links

Article posts

This feature allows you to write your own article or blog posts, which can be posted to one or more of the 8000 blogs in the text links.com database. In this post were allowed to include up to three different text links. Each post must contain a minimum of 100 words.

To start building links simply click the “select links” button.

From the select links page, you have the option to either search a keyword or browse sites by category. I have yet to find a category that is not listed in this directory.

Once you have narrowed down your search, you are shown potential pages where you can place your link, pricing is based on the pages Google page rank. You can even see eight page preview and the exact URL of each site. when you are ready to add a link, click the checkbox next to the link, then click the “add link to selected pages” button. It’s as easy as that. Now if you go to that site, you will immediately see your link. Backlinks.com exceeded my expectations within 15 minutes of registering as a new user (advertiser). The advertiser’s user interface is very straight forward. You can add your sites very quickly without having to worry about writing long descriptions and lists of keywords. Simply enter in your site URL, your desired anchor text, and select from the large (but manageable) list of website categories. Click next and you’ve just added your first site.

Once your site has been added to their system, click select links to begin finding relevant backlinks to your website. You will be brought to a page which lists all categories, or you can simply search for the type of site you’re looking for. One click later you are presented with a list of websites related to your selection. I was impressed on the speed of the backlinks.com system, there is almost no wait for returning search results and I must say they’ve built up quite a large and impressive clientele.

Anyway, back to the process. You are now shown a list of sites,  each site is labeled by their brief description, followed by Google Page Rank, whether or not the link will be on a homepage or subpage, and the cost of the link. But the best feature, which sets backlinks.com apart from the rest of the link marketplace; click the description of any website and you are shown the URL of that site, but don’t worry it is in the form of a “CAPTCHA” type of image. This ensures that nobody is penalized by search engines for intentionally purchasing or selling links.

Once you’ve added a simple description for your site you will be given a snippet of code, or if you use wordpress or another blogging platform you can download a plugin for easy integration. This code/plugin allows Text-Link-Ads to sell links on your site in an instant.

You have 2 choices of where the links will be located: 1) you can have a blogroll type of sidebar widget with a list of sold links, or 2) you can have links appear throughout your blog posts. The Rundown

At first glance, Ask2Link appears to be your typical, run of the mill text link marketplace. The thing that impressed me the most about this company is the simplicity and speed at which you can buy and sell text links. These guys roped me in good with a customized email, fitted personally to me and my company (at least it appeared that way). If this email was automated, I am thoroughly impressed with the skills of the writer and developer. In this email, they expressed interest in starting a business relationship with one of my SEO companies. This peaked my interest and I clicked the sender’s signature to check out what they have going on over on their website.

I was initially turned off by the company logo; in my opinion it is just ugly. However the website is designed with functionality in mind, and that’s one thing it does very well. The sign-up process at Ask2Link was very simple and quick. I was asked if I wanted to be an advertiser or publisher, or both via a simple checkbox (no need to sign up twice). Within 15 minutes of clicking the link I had purchased a PR5 text link for $6 a month and posted one of my websites on the link marketplace.

Overall I like the site and company. I think they need to do some fine tuning on their logo, website, text, and emails. However the site works well as a text link marketplace. It appears to be growing fast so I’m sure improvements are just around the corner. If you’re looking to find hundreds of inexpensive, contextual “do-follow” links for your site, this is a great place to go.
